Awards & Achievements

Although New Life Mexico (NLM) is a small grass roots charity we are extremely proud of the recognition and support we have received from with-in Mexico and abroad:

1. British Embassy, Mexico – Nominated Philippa Vernon-Powell as London 2012 Olympic Torch Bearer. In recognition of NLM’s work – stating that “The British Embassy believes that New Life Mexico's work is an example of the strong friendship between our two countries”.

2. Mexican Embassy in London – Mexico’s Ambassador Eduardo Medina Mora in February 2011 “thanked New Life Mexico for their work in Mexico … as an excellent example of how the British and Mexican communities can work together”.

3. Puerto Vallarta 2007 Citizens Award – NLM’s work with-in the community officially acknowledged and recognised by DIF (Mexican Social Services).

4. The Mayor of Puerto Vallarta Javier Bravo Carbajal 2007 thanked NLM for their continued support and commitment to the local community.

4. DIF (Mexican Social Services, Puerto Vallarta) – 2008 DIF acknowledged New Life Mexico´s work in their Annual report.

5. British Mexico Society – officially acknowledges and supports the work of NLM.

6. Mexican Tourist Office – continue to acknowledge and support NLM. Manuel Diaz Cebrian, Director of Mexican Tourist Office in London, “thanks NLM for their continued work with-in Mexico and appreciates their contribution to strengthening the Mexico/British communication partnership”.

7. Compassion 4 Kids Certificate – NLM´s US Partner, received in respect to NLM’s work with vulnerable children in Puerto Vallarta.

8. VidaNueva Certificate – presented to Philippa Vernon-Powell as Director of Field Work for activities at the New Life Street Kid Centre

9. LATA Foundation (Latin America Travel Association) – “are proud. to work with NLM …”

10. AITO (Association of Independent Tour Operators) – NLM have continually received acknowledgment on its work from AITO: winning the 2005 Responsible Tourism Award and more recently being ‘Highly Commended’ in the ‘Roger Diski 2011 Community Project Award’.

11. Wanderlust 2010 Guide Award – Peter Selman, of Journey Latin America, who won the prestigious ‘Wanderlust 2010 Guide Award’ has, in addition to donating his prize money to build a NLM Water House “congratulates NLM for their work with-in the local community”.

12. Bradt Travel Guides – officially support and acknowledge NLM work through their LATA contribution -
